Donations For Wheeling Area Flood Victims

TODAY, SUNDAY JUNE 15th, 11 am-4 pm : The City of Martins Ferry is accepting donations of paper products to be delivered today to assist our neighbors in the Wheeling area who have been severely impacted by this weekend’s flooding.

Donations are being accepted of:

toilet paper

vinyl gloves

paper towels

tissues

cleaning wipes

baby wipes

diapers

cleaning solutions

Donations can be dropped off at the Martins Ferry Recreation Center until 4pm, when they will be delivered to Wheeling Officials.


City Council Updates

There will be a Special Meeting of the Martins Ferry City Council on Tuesday May 27th at 10 am in Council Chambers to consider the AFSCME contract and any miscellaneous business.

*Change of City Council Meetings: For the Summer months, City Council meetings will be scheduled once a month as follow:

June 18th

July 16th

August 20th

Summer Meetings will be held at the Martins Ferry Recreation Center. Special Meetings will be called if needed.

Boil Order Lifted

The Boil Order issued January 26, 2025 has been lifted.

Lab samples have returned, and boiling is no longer necessary.

10am: Martins Ferry experienced a serious water break today in the early morning hours. The repair should be completed soon.

A 48 hour Boil Order has been issued for the entire City of Martins Ferry, once the water has been restored. This means that citizens should boil the water vigorously for one minute. Bring the water to a full, rolling boil, and then start timing.


Time Change for City Council Meetings

During the months of February through May 2025, Regular Meetings of Martins Ferry City Council will be held on the First and Third Wednesdays beginning at 4:30 pm. Beginning in June 2025 the meetings will return to their usual start time of 6 PM.
