City Seeks Bids for Street Paving

City Council recently passed legislation authorizing the Director of Public Service to seek bids for the paving of the following streets:

1. Concord Street from Grant to Catawba

2. 5th Street and Center Street intersection

3. Delia Avenue intersection

4. Border Lane.

Funding for these improvements comes from the Permissive Tax Funds.

Additionally,?grant funding is being sought for the?paving of Zane Highway from Aetna Street to the 5th Street exit.? Zane Highway is the most heavily travelled street in Martins Ferry as well as the only alternate?detour for State Route 7 traffic during?emergency situations.? The project is expected to cost more than $400,000.
